NFL Week 9 Betting: Colts and Chargers Targeted as Value Plays
Analysts see value in undersized spreads for Indianapolis and Los Angeles while eyeing potential returns from key injured players.

Betting markets for the upcoming NFL slate show value in two specific matchups where the odds do not reflect current roster realities. Analysts point to the Indianapolis Colts and Los Angeles Chargers as prime candidates to cover against their respective opponents this weekend.
The Colts are listed at plus 5.5 points against the Dallas Cowboys. Although Indianapolis is in a rebuilding phase and selling off assets for draft capital, the roster remains competitive against a Dallas defense that ranks in the bottom five against running backs. Running back Jonathan Taylor, who has been the subject of trade rumors, may play his final home game in a Colts uniform. If he suits up, his matchup against a vulnerable Cowboys pass rush offers a clear path to a high-volume performance.
In a separate game, the Los Angeles Chargers sit at 0-7 and are facing the Houston Texans as plus 6 points. The Chargers are coming off a loss to the Los Angeles Rams and possess a struggling offensive line. However, the betting line is considered too high for a team that recently defeated the Minnesota Vikings at home. The Chargers are viewed as a 2-5 team capable of keeping the game close, rather than a squad that will lose by double digits.
The New England Patriots are favored by 3 points against the Green Bay Packers. The line may account for the potential return of defensive end Micah Parsons, who has returned to practice. If Parsons remains out, the Patriots could dominate on offense despite the possible absence of A.J. Brown and TreVeyon Henderson. Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel is also expected to energize his team for the game, as it marks the return of Tom Brady to Foxborough as a broadcaster.
Player prop bets focus on running backs and wide receivers in advantageous matchups. Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty is targeted for over 27.5 rushing yards after being limited in the previous week. Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase is projected to exceed 77.5 receiving yards against a Falcons defense that is stronger against the run than the pass.
Anytime touchdown scorers include Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams, who has scored five touchdowns in his last three games. Rams running back Blake Corum is also a candidate, benefiting from a run-heavy offensive scheme that has given him double-digit carries in the last two weeks. Jets running back Braelon Allen offers value as he continues to see touches while Breece Hall recovers from injury.
