Kickoff arrives at 7:15 p.m. CST on ESPN Monday night as the Dallas Cowboys travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles. Both franchises enter the contest with identical 2-4 records. The division leader, the New York Giants, hold a 3-2-1 record, placing the visiting Cowboys and home Eagles in a close race for the top spot.

The NFC East is experiencing a historic stretch of poor play. In the last two weeks, every team in the division played twice and failed to win a single game. This marks the first time since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger that a division has gone without a victory over that span. The result has left the standings fluid and the title race undecided.

Philadelphia is dealing with a four-game losing streak, its first since 2020. The offense has struggled mightily, scoring only 58 points across those four losses. Quarterback Jalen Hurts is on injured reserve and expected to miss the remainder of the season due to blood clots. Rookie Tanner McKee, who spent his first two years as a backup, will start his first meaningful game. He had just two days of practice with the first team during last week's loss to Carolina but will have a full week to prepare with first-year offensive coordinator Sean Mannion.

The Eagles' running game is also depleted. Saquon Barkley has missed two games with a hamstring injury, while backups Will Shipley and Tank Bigsby are also hurt. Carson Steele, signed from the practice squad, injured his shoulder against Carolina. Only Dameon Pierce carried the ball in that matchup, rushing for 35 yards. Dallas allows 4.7 yards per carry this season, a number that could aid the Eagles if they can find a healthy back.

Dallas faces its own offensive woes. The Cowboys ranked 30th in the league in defense under first-year coordinator Christian Parker. On offense, they scored just 29 points in their last two losses, including a 23-13 defeat to Green Bay last week. This is the first time since 2019 that Dak Prescott has started two consecutive games with fewer than 20 points scored.

Owner Jerry Jones addressed the coaching stability at the NFL's annual fall meeting on Wednesday. He stated that he does not anticipate further coaching changes this season. He described the recent hiring of defensive assistant Mike Pettine as a strategic and unique move to strengthen the front office.

Several individual records are on the line in this matchup. CeeDee Lamb has 48 receptions, the most in franchise history through six games. He is also approaching the 8,000 career receiving yards mark. Javonte Williams is the second Cowboys player to reach seven rushing touchdowns through six games, trailing only Emmitt Smith from 1994 and 1995. Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert needs one catch to move into third place on the franchise's career receptions list.

Dallas is favored by 4 points. The Cowboys are 3-3 against the spread, while the Eagles are 1-5. Dallas leads the all-time series 72-58 and won the previous meeting 24-21 on Nov. 23, 2025. The Eagles will play at Washington on Nov. 1, followed by a home game against the Giants to conclude their divisional slate.
