Shane M. Hull, 19, of Bethel, died in a crash Sunday evening in Clark Township. He was one of three men working on a disabled vehicle when a pickup truck struck them.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported the accident occurred just after 6 p.m. on Liming Van Thompson Road near Yankeetown Road. Troopers said a southbound 1999 GMC Sonoma pickup hit a trailer attached to a stopped 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. The Pathfinder had been disabled, and the men were attempting repairs at the time of the impact.
The force of the collision pushed the Pathfinder forward into the group. Hull was pinned against a parked 2022 Ford F-150. He was transported to Mount Orab Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Two other men working on the van, a 19-year-old from Bethel and a 70-year-old from Hamersville, were taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries.
The driver of the GMC pickup, a 65-year-old man, was not hurt. The crash remains under investigation by the highway patrol.
