Apple TV and Legendary Television are negotiating a third season of the series, but the production will undergo major creative changes. A source familiar with the talks stated that the new season will feature a different showrunner and a new writing team. The creative shift aims to introduce new Titans from the Monsterverse into the narrative.
It is not yet confirmed whether characters from the first two seasons will return. The source noted that several individuals have been approached to take over the showrunning duties. The series first aired on Apple TV in 2023, with the second season debuting in February 2026.
Meanwhile, a spinoff series starring Wyatt Russell as Col. Lee Shaw remains in development. That project will follow Shaw on a 1984 mission to stop the Soviets from deploying a new, destructive Titan. Chris Black and Matt Fraction created the original series. Black served as showrunner and executive producer for the second season.
Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell of Safehouse Pictures also hold executive producer roles on the main series. For the second season, executive producers included Jen Roskind, Matt Shakman, Lawrence Trilling, and Andrew Colville. Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita represent Toho Co., Ltd., the rights holder for the Godzilla character.
Harold is set to serve as showrunner for the spinoff and is currently developing multiple other series within the Monsterverse universe. The spinoff cast features Millie Brady, Pilou Asbaek, Corey Stoll, Ralph Ineson, Nyasha Hatendi, Connie Nielsen, and Stana Katic alongside Russell.
