Rapper NLE Choppa will perform at the University of Miami's annual homecoming concert this year.
University of Miami Hurricane Productions confirmed the booking on Tuesday, ending weeks of speculation on campus. The announcement followed a structured promotional campaign designed to build excitement among the student body. On Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m., members of the production group dropped a flyer from the third floor of the Donna E. Shalala Student Center. The reveal included smoke effects and displayed the artist's image, prompting cheers from students gathered at the Lakeside Patio.
Prior to the physical reveal, the production team posted three clues on Instagram. The first clue referenced a jackpot, alluding to a $3 million deal the artist declined. The second clue identified Memphis, Tennessee, as the artist's hometown and noted his background in high school basketball. The third clue utilized the song Camelot as a direct hint. Georgina Paez, a junior studying media management, said she deduced the artist's identity from the hints and had already secured her ticket.
Following the reveal, students moved to the Rat for a listening party featuring NLE Choppa's music. The event is scheduled for Nov. 11 at the Watsco Center. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the performance beginning at 8 p.m.
Entry to the concert requires a valid Cane Card. Jake Sperling, marketing coordinator for HP Live, expressed excitement about bringing the artist to the university. He described the moment of dropping the banner from the Shalala terrace and hearing the crowd response as a high point for the team. Trinity Vodovoz, the program lead for HP Live, instructed students to claim their tickets through an email sent to their university accounts.
Tickets are free for all current students. An email was sent to the student body on the morning of Oct. 29, confirming the giveaway. Students can request tickets via Ticketmaster. Additionally, physical tickets will be distributed in the breezeway in the days before the event. There are 1,500 floor seats available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Recent homecoming concerts have featured A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, Olivia O'Brien, Cheat Codes, Quavo, 21 Savage, Flo Rida, and Marshmello. The production team confirmed the free ticket structure and the distribution method in an email sent to the campus newspaper.
