The National Football League has confirmed the performer for its 2027 halftime show. Jay-Z will take the stage at SoFi Stadium on February 14, 2027, marking the first time the rapper has headlined the event as a solo artist.
The announcement cements a partnership that has defined the show for nearly a decade. Jay-Z and his management company, Roc Nation, have served as the NFL's production partners for the halftime program since 2019. As a key decision-maker in the process, Jay-Z chose to perform himself rather than booking an external act.
Despite the confirmed headliner, the identities of the teams playing in the championship game remain unknown. Those matchups will be determined by the end of the 2026 season, with the winner set to face the opposing conference champion in Inglewood.
The primary question for producers and fans now centers on the guest list. Halftime shows frequently feature multiple performers, and while Jay-Z has not issued an official guest announcement, industry observers point to several artists with deep ties to his career.
Beyonce is frequently cited as the most likely candidate. The couple has been married since 2018 and has a history of musical collaboration dating back to their pre-marriage era. Their joint works include the 2003 hit "Crazy in Love" and "Drunk in Love." Beyonce also has direct experience on the Super Bowl stage, having performed with Coldplay and Bruno Mars in 2016 and singing the national anthem in 2001.
Rihanna represents another strong possibility. Jay-Z played a central role in launching her career in 2005 as CEO of Def Jam Records, and she later signed with Roc Nation in 2010. Their collaborations include "Umbrella" and "Run This Town." Earlier in 2026, Rihanna made a surprise appearance on Jay-Z's tour at Yankee Stadium. She previously headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2023.
The youngest potential guest is Blu Ivy Carter, Jay-Z and Beyonce's eldest child. She has appeared as a dancer on her mother's stage, including during the 2024 Christmas Day halftime performance in Houston and the recent Cowboy Carter tour. Her presence at NFL games with her father suggests a family-oriented approach is possible for the upcoming event.
Eminem, known professionally as Slim Shady, is the final name on the shortlist of potential guests. He recently joined Jay-Z on stage during the rapper's current tour, a reunion that traces back to their 2001 collaboration on the song "Renegade" from the album The Blueprint. Eminem also appeared as a special guest during the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show, adding to his track record with the NFL.
The production team will finalize these guest selections as the February 14 date approaches. The show will air nationally, reaching an audience that typically exceeds 100 million viewers, making the final lineup a major cultural event in its own right.
