A search spanning London and six other counties is underway for Anthony Lloyd, 38, who police say left a health unit in Lewisham on Friday afternoon. The Metropolitan police reported Lloyd forced his way out shortly after 4pm and was last seen about 4.10pm heading toward Catford.
Detective superintendent Melanie Pressley, who is leading the search, said officers are "conducting various significant inquiries to find Lloyd and return him to custody." Pressley said the force is "concerned he poses a risk both to himself and the public," and urged anyone who sees him to call 999 without approaching him. She asked for any information "however small" to be shared with police urgently.
According to the Press Association, Lloyd was convicted in 2025 of actual bodily harm over an incident in Nottinghamshire involving three emergency services workers. He received a 12-month custodial sentence and was moved to the Lewisham medical facility in September.
Police describe Lloyd as white, about 5ft 8in, with a medium build and short dark hair. At the time he was last seen he wore a grey-blue T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms and white trainers. Officers believe he could be anywhere in London, and say he also has links to Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley, Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Merseyside.
Anyone with information is asked to call 999 and quote reference CAD4739/23Oct.
Police have asked the public not to approach Lloyd and to call 999 immediately if he is spotted.
