Owners of 40 specific Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets in Japan have received a fixed schedule for the Android 17 software update. The company has designated October and November 2026 as the delivery window for these devices.
Samsung Japan released the official list on October 23, 2026. This publication provides the first concrete dates for the One UI 9 rollout for this group of hardware. While the timing is specific to the Japanese market, the list of eligible models is expected to serve as a template for the global rollout in the coming months.
The update includes recent flagship smartphones such as the Galaxy S26, S25, S24, and S23 series. Foldable devices on the list range from the latest Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 down to the Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. The company also included mid-range handsets, specifically the Galaxy A57, A55, A54, A36, and A25.
Tablet owners are also included in this phase. The list features the Galaxy Tab S11, S10, and S9 series, along with their Ultra, Plus, and FE variants. It also covers the Tab S6 Lite (2024), Tab A11, Tab A11+/5G, and the rugged Tab Active 5 Pro.
The list is not exhaustive. It omits the Plus versions of several recent Galaxy S flagships and numerous Galaxy A models. It also excludes many devices sold in other regions that are likely to receive the software later.
Samsung indicated that the global rollout will continue beyond the Japanese window. Many entry-level devices are expected to receive the update through December 2026 and into January 2027. The company confirmed that One UI 9 debuted in September on the Galaxy S26 series and has already reached some previous-generation devices.
The publication of these dates allows users to track the progress of the software release. Samsung Japan maintains the official status of each model, while global timelines are expected to follow this initial schedule.
