Oppo's new Find X10 Pro Max costs €1,799 in Europe, nearly the same as a foldable phone. The reviewer has used it for the past few weeks and praised its performance, cameras, and battery life, but the price has taken much of the shine off the launch. The price is only slightly below that of Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8, which costs €1,999 in Europe.
The reviewer says the price is hard to believe for a non-foldable handset, and that buyers would be satisfied with it on those terms. The writer places the blame on the tech industry as a whole, largely because of AI companies, and refers to the situation as 'RAMageddon.'
Samsung's comparable Galaxy S26 Ultra costs €1,769 in Europe, which is not much less, and Xiaomi is rumored to be facing similarly steep pricing for its next European release. Users on Reddit have pointed out that the Find X10 Pro Max matches the price of the latest iPhone 18 Pro Max.
The writer says that even with promotional offers, the new phone is very expensive, particularly in a market where prices are already exceptionally high. Last year's models look particularly appealing by comparison, and the reviewer says they would gladly choose the Find X9 Ultra, especially at a lower price.
Some commenters have observed that the older flagship comes with more memory and a larger battery in Europe while costing hundreds of euros less. A Find X9 Pro can currently be found in Europe for roughly €1,000.
