Businesses across North Texas are competing for customer attention in the final days of October by scheduling more than 215 Halloween-themed events. Venues in six cities have booked activities ranging from family trick-or-treating to adult cocktail tastings, filling the calendar through Oct. 31.

The event count breaks down by city as follows: The Colony lists 10 events, Frisco lists 6, Plano lists 4, McKinney lists 6, Dallas lists 2, and Fort Worth lists 2. Additional events in Celina and Grapevine bring the total regional count to 215.

In The Colony, Stewart Creek Park hosts a free Family Fright Fest on Oct. 24 featuring hayrides and games. Truck Yard is running a limited-time drink menu and costume contests at its six DFW locations, including a new Richardson location. Grandscape will host an emo music party on Oct. 29 and a family event on Halloween night.

Frisco venues are focusing on golf and heritage themes. The PGA District is offering pumpkin putting and trick-or-treating from golf carts. The Frisco Heritage Center is decorating historic buildings for a craft and game event. Frisco Square is hosting a carnival on Oct. 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. The Omni PGA Frisco Resort is pouring themed cocktails through Nov. 1, and Tostitos Championship Plaza is hosting a free morning event for children under five on Oct. 28.

Plano businesses are using the Arts District and Haggard Park for a festival with carnival rides and live music on Oct. 24. Legacy Hall is hosting a free parade and movie screening on Oct. 27. McKinney venues are offering seasonal menus and a walk-through tasting event. The Yard is serving a S'mortuary cocktail that benefits a local dog rescue, and the Spooktacular Brews and Boos Walk will visit 20 beverage stops in Historic Downtown McKinney on Oct. 31.

Dallas and Fort Worth venues are targeting families with free or ticketed experiences. Klyde Warren Park is holding its sixth-annual trick-or-treat event on Oct. 24 with book giveaways and a movie screening. The Fort Worth Zoo is running a three-day event with treat coupons, a pumpkin patch, and animal presentations. Celina is hosting a festival with a haunted manor and 60 market vendors on Oct. 24.

The Grapevine Vintage Railroad is operating a two-hour train excursion on Oct. 30 and 31. The ride features vintage 1920s coaches, Texas craft beer, and spooky entertainment. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes for the trip.

These events represent a coordinated effort by local businesses to capture holiday spending. The schedule includes free family activities, paid ticket events, and drink specials designed to extend customer dwell time. The calendar extends through Nov. 1 for some venues, ensuring a continuous flow of activities until the holiday is over.
