Queensland police reported that a vehicle fired shots at a licensed premises in Loganholme on Saturday evening, wounding four people. Officers responded to the call at 8.15 p.m. on Bryants Road, where the venue was hosting the Logan City Titles Fight Night. The shooting occurred outside Fitzys Loganholme, a bar and event space located south of Brisbane.

Police identified the location as a licensed venue and confirmed that the four injured individuals were transported to a hospital. Medical staff are currently assessing their conditions. Officers stated that the vehicle responsible for the shooting was observed leaving the scene after the shots were fired. No arrests had been made as of the latest update, and the suspects remain at large.

Deputy Commander Chris Stream of Queensland police described the scene as confronting in an interview with the Today show. He noted that several attendees suffered gunshot wounds. The police force has indicated that they do not believe an ongoing threat exists for the general public, though they are actively seeking information from witnesses to identify the offenders.

Logan Mayor Jon Raven addressed the community impact in the same broadcast. He stated that residents in the area are frightened by the incident. Raven remarked that the event has sent a shockwave through the local community, noting that such an occurrence has not happened in Logan before. He expressed his sympathy for the victims, the venue staff, and the attendees present during the shooting.

Raven characterized the fight night as a family-friendly environment where many children are typically present. He explained that the event is often organized to steer young people away from violence by connecting them with boxing. The mayor stated that the organizer views the sport as a tool to empower and reconnect young people who might be struggling. Raven added that the shooting is the opposite of what the organizer intended to achieve.

The event organizers issued a statement on social media on Sunday morning. They described the incident as heartbreaking and emphasized that the night was designed to showcase local talent and community skills. The group stated that such incidents have no place in the boxing community or the wider public sphere. Police have asked anyone with information about the shooting to contact them directly.

The venue remained open for the event despite the incident, which took place in the evening. The four wounded individuals are receiving medical care, and police are continuing their investigation into the drive-by attack. The Logan City Titles Fight Night was scheduled to feature local boxers and community members participating in the ring.
