Harry Kane resumed his training schedule at Bayern Munich on Tuesday, two days after collecting the Ballon d'Or in London. The forward did not play in the club's 6-1 cup victory over Magdeburg on Wednesday, allowing him to rest ahead of a busy week.

Kane received the award on Monday at the London Palladium. The ceremony concluded near 11 p.m. local time. He described the experience as strange and noted that he is still processing the event. He said he did not party too hard and returned to work immediately.

The timeline of his return was quick. He trained on Tuesday and was available for the Wednesday match if required. The coaching staff opted to rest him given the fixture list. Bayern faces Borussia Dortmund on Saturday and travels to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Fans at the Allianz Arena recognized his presence. A group of supporters chanted his name during the warmup. Teammates formed a guard of honor before the match began. Kane admitted the applause made him feel slightly embarrassed but acknowledged the scale of the achievement.

This is the first time an Englishman has won the Ballon d'Or in 25 years. It is also the first time a Bundesliga player has won the award since Matthias Sammer in 1996. Kane left Tottenham Hotspur for Bayern in 2023. He was 47 goals short of Alan Shearer's Premier League scoring record at the time.

Kane has not yet decided where to place the trophy at his home. He also has not eaten the gold-flaked schnitzel delivered by a Bavarian restaurant. He said match-day routines took priority. He called the tradition nice and joked that he would like more deliveries.

His wife and four children remain in London. They are due back in Munich on Friday. Kane has not seen them since winning the award. He expects his two sons to try playing with the heavy trophy. He said he will have to explain that it is precious.

Kane said the past 48 hours felt like a whirlwind. He described returning to the club as feeling like being at home again. He compared the time since Sunday's league match to six weeks. He plans to prepare as usual for Saturday's game against Dortmund.
