The Chicago Bears defeated the Seattle Seahawks 34-17 on Monday night in a game defined by immediate defensive impact and efficient quarterback play. The win improved Chicago to 6-2 while dropping Seattle to 4-4.

Jeffery Simmons made his debut with the Bears after being acquired from Tennessee last week in a trade involving two first-round picks. He recorded a sack on the opening drive, added a tackle for loss, and finished the game with six total tackles, three pressures, and a pass defensed. His performance helped limit Seattle to just 252 total yards and only one third-down conversion out of 11 attempts.

Caleb Williams played a clean game against a stingy defense, completing 71% of his passes for 247 yards without an interception. He was sacked only once. The offense capitalized on defensive stops with three short touchdown runs by D'Andre Swift, including a final score with 4:41 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Seattle struggled to establish a running game, managing only 81 rushing yards despite the recent addition of guard Quenton Nelson and the return of key backs from injury. Quarterback Sam Darnold threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns but was intercepted in the fourth quarter, a turnover that set up Swift's decisive run. Coach Mike Macdonald acknowledged the defeat plainly, stating, "We got beat. No other way to sugar coat it."

The loss ended a 30-game streak in which Seattle did not lose by more than four points. This streak was the fourth longest in Super Bowl era history. The Bears also saw injuries sideline defensive linemen Grady Jarrett and Kenatvius Street during the game. Seattle lost defensive lineman Leonard Williams to a stinger in the second half.

Williams took steps to reduce media attention by covering the logo on his Caddix brand cleats, wearing all black shoes instead. He reportedly faced fines totaling about $35,000 in the previous two weeks for displaying an unauthorized logo. He explained the decision as an effort to keep the focus on the team rather than personal branding issues.

The Bears will host Tampa Bay on Sunday night, while the Seahawks prepare to host Arizona the following Sunday. Both teams look to bounce back from the results of this Monday night matchup.
