Apple published documentation detailing the hardware requirements for fast charging the iPhone Duo. The company states that the device can reach 50 percent battery capacity in approximately 20 minutes when connected via a wired power source.
This specific charging speed depends on using the USB-C cable included in the retail box. Apple lists its own 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max as a compatible option. This unit was priced at $34 in the report. Alternatively, the documentation permits the use of third-party adapters rated for 60W or more.
For third-party chargers to support the maximum wired speed, Apple requires them to use Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS) and support USB Power Delivery 3.2. This specification ensures the device receives the necessary power delivery protocol for rapid energy transfer.
Wireless charging operates at a slower pace. Apple indicates that the iPhone Duo can reach 50 percent battery in about 30 minutes without a cable. To achieve this, users must connect the phone to a MagSafe Charger or an adapter rated at 35W or higher. The support pages identify compatible options from Apple and Anker.
The MagSafe Charger is listed at a price of $30. The article notes that third-party charging solutions often provide better value than first-party hardware. Anker is cited as a preferred alternative for its 100W charging brick, which supports both iPhones and other high-power devices. Apple also offers an official 2-meter USB-C cable for users requiring more length than the included accessory.
