A cold front sweeping through Colorado will lower Pueblo's temperatures by 30 degrees between Friday and Saturday.
Friday, Oct. 23, is forecast to be the last day of the warm spell, with a high of 80 degrees and a low of 52. Saturday's high will reach only the 50s. Rain chances are currently 10% to 20% on the south side of the city Friday, rising sharply over the weekend.
Sunshine is expected to break through morning clouds around 10 a.m. along Interstate 25. The front, advancing from the west, may trigger thunderstorms farther east and along the southern stretch of the interstate. Nearby Colorado Springs is set for a high of 73 and a low of 47.
Canon City could see a few afternoon showers, with a 20% to 30% chance of rain and a high of 75. Woodland Park will see a high of 58 and a low of 39, with afternoon clouds following morning sunshine. The Monument and Tri-Lakes area is forecast to hit 69, followed by Saturday highs in the 50s.
Farther south, Walsenburg and Trinidad will reach 73 and 74 degrees, respectively, with lows of 49. For both towns, Friday is the warmest day of the next seven. Weekend highs in these areas will also drop into the 50s.
Eastern plains residents can expect thunderstorms by Friday evening after a sunny start, with afternoon temperatures in the 70s and 80s. Mountain highs are in the 60s with lows in the 30s. Lingering moisture and flooding remain concerns in southwestern Colorado, where water levels may take time to recede.
Conditions are expected to calm next week, with sunshine and temperatures gradually warming into the 60s. The preliminary Halloween outlook calls for 50s and 60s with dry weather.
